Our residential roof cleaning work means we travel all across the midlands. Last month we were called out to quote for a job in Sheffield. The property in question was a large modern residential house with several roof surfaces that needed cleaning.  The house was adjacent to a stand of trees which can contribute to moss and lichens forming on roofs.

Like many of the properties we work on, the house had concrete roof tiles,  there was a lot of damage to the roof tiles and in total, we had to replace over 100 broken tiles.  Roof tiles weather with time but capillary action, (Moss sucking up water)  is what causes the erosion of the tiles.

We then covered the garden and yard area to protect it from and falling debris caused by the Moss removal and set to work.

As you can see, the work significantly improves the look of the property.

Once we had identified and replaced all the broken tiles, we then set about repointing the lead work around the chimney.  Some of the ridge tiles needed patch pointing also.
