We received a call to come and quote cleaning for this large house in Baslow, Derbyshire. This roof was in desperate need of cleaning, The entire roof was peppered with moss and lichen.  It was quite a large property, with multiple roof surfaces.

The Lichens had caused damage to the gritstone slates, and there were lots of broken tiles. This happened because mosses and lichens absorb some of the rainwater after a downfall. The rainwater they hold sits against your roof causing erosion.

Because of these holes in the tiles, we had to take urgent action and replace all of the damaged slates. This is when we found out that 70 slates had been ruined and no longer fit for use. To prevent something like this happening to your home, you need to take action and get in touch. As well as replacing the broken slates we also sealed leadwork on with the chimney and gutters.

After cleaning the roof. We cleaned up the patio, paths and driveway and removed the moss that was in between the spaces on the patio, paths, driveway cleaned and treated. As you can see, this work made a big difference to the presentation of the house.
