We were recently called by a home in Beighton, Sheffield they requested for a roof cleaning. When we arrived at the property we could see that the roof was capped in Moss and Lichen.

Due to the abundance of Moss and Lichen, six of the concrete tiles had been damaged. This is because Mosses and Lichens absorb some of the rainwater after a downfall. The rainwater they hold sits against your roof causing erosion.

After cleaning the roof, and replacing these ruined slates we started work on the sealed lead flashing around the chimney and gutters. First, we flattened the hole around the chimney, then cleaned the area with flux so when the heat we supplied would cause the lead to melt.

Once the problems were resolved we treated the roof with antifungal treatment to prevent moss and mould from damaging the interior of the roof.
