We were asked to look at a roof in Borrowash, Derby. This job was a bungalow with concrete tiles. Luckily these tiles didn’t need replacing, they just needed a good clean and some moss removed to keep it in good health.

The roof tiles had become discoloured and started to be covered with moss.  This homeowner made the right decision and contacted us.

Roof Cleaning Process

We start off our process by preparing the working area. This includes laying down tarpaulin sheets and disconnecting any downpipes and placing net bags over drains.

After preparations, we start cleaning. Using a pressure washer to clean your roof. Adjusting the pressure allows us to remove moss, lichen, algae and dirt without causing any damage to your tiles.

Once we have finished cleaning we make sure that your gutters, downpipes and drains are clear of any unwanted dirt from the cleaning process.

We also clean your fascias and soffits and rinse down all your windows, walls, doors and frames.  All the mess is then bagged up and taken away by us.   Once all the moss, lichen, algae and dirt has been cleaned off your roof, we can clearly see what repairs need to be done.

Repairs
Once we have finished cleaning, we will assess the state of your roof and we will determine what repairs are necessary.  Basic repairs come as part of our full roof cleaning process at no extra charge.

Once all the necessary repairs have been done, we then treat your roof with an organic anti-fungal agent which kills any remaining roots and spores in the tiles.
