The summer of 2022 has been choc full of roof cleaning jobs. We’ve worked in many towns and villages across the East Midlands, from North Lincolnshire to South Leicestershire. This particular roof cleaning job was carried out in the picturesque village of  Great Longstone, which is in the Derbyshire Peak District.  The house was a modern (1980s) 2-story detached property in the centre of the village.

Will Roof Cleaning Damage My Roof?

No, not the way we do it.  Peak Roofclean Ltd carries out Softwashing, which uses gentler jets of water at a lower pressure than standard jet washing.  If we do find any broken tiles as part of our roof inspection, we will fix those free of charge as part of our work.  We regularly repoint along ridges too if we find that ridge tiles have come loose.

 

Will the Moss And Lichen Come Back?

We want to say no, but the reality is that over time the mosses and lichens can return, but it’s usually several years before you’ll even see a spot of moss growing.  Many of our customers have had roofs cleaned for 6 or seven years without any regrowth at all.

We use an antifungal agent to prevent regrowth, this solution is harmless to wildlife and the waterways.
