We were recently called out to check out a large roof in Allestree, Derby. This home’s roof had discolouration, moss and lichens. The moss and lichens made the roof vulnerable to erosion.

This roof needed to be cleaned soon, otherwise, erosion may cause damage to the tiles.

How do we clean roofs?

We start off our cleaning process by preparing the surrounding area. We lay down tarpaulin sheets and disconnect any downpipes, then place net bags over drains.

After we have finished our preparations, we start cleaning. Using a pressure washer to clean your roof. Adjusting the pressure allows us to remove moss, lichen, algae and dirt without causing any damage to your tiles.

Cleaning up after work

Once we have finished cleaning we make sure that your gutters, downpipes and drains are clear of any unwanted dirt from the cleaning process. We also clean your fascias and soffits and rinse down all your windows, walls, doors and frames.  All the mess is then bagged up and taken away by us. Once all the moss, lichen, algae and dirt has been cleaned off your roof, we can clearly see what repairs need to be done.

Repairs
Once we have finished cleaning, we will assess the state of your roof and we will determine if any repairs are necessary.  Basic repairs come as part of our full roof cleaning process at no extra charge.

Once all the necessary repairs have been done, we then treat your roof with an organic anti-fungal agent which kills any remaining roots and spores in the tiles.

after removing all of the moss and lichens, the roof looked brand new. This customer was exceedingly happy with the results.
